Block couple Ryan and Rachel’s awkward on screen tension

Another awkward couple argument has broken on The Block as the teams struggle under the pressure of redo week.

The pressure of redo week appears to be getting to the contestants on The Block, with the second couple this week awkwardly clashing in front of cameras.

Tensions in House 2 were high on Tuesday night, with Rachel and Ryan seeming fed up with each other as they chatted with producers one morning.

Speaking to close friend and fellow contestant Sarah-Jane, Rachel was seeing red.

“Mate, Ryan’s gonna get murdered today, he is being such an arrogant prick,” she began.

Rachel took to the car with Sarah-Jane to vent.

“What he doesn’t really understand is that I will kill him, I’m quite capable in murder. And look around, if I wanted to murder him …

“There is so much mud and dirt,” Sarah-Jane interjected.

“100 per cent,” said Rachel.

Elaborating, she later continued: “Ryan cannot admit that he’s wrong ever.”

“That’s a male thing babe, that’s a male thing,” Sarah-Jane said, as footage from earlier that day rolled of Ryan explaining what their day had in store.

“Game plan right now: Rachel’s gonna either go shopping, or she’s going to start clearing out the guest bedroom that we’re redoing,” he said.

Awkward.

Very awkward.

“Nope, Rachel’s going shopping,” the mum-of-three tersely corrected him.

“That’s what I said, either go shopping, or clean out the guest bedroom.”

“Yeah but I’m just going shopping,” Rachel repeated.

“Ok, and then she’s going to come back and clean out the guest bedroom,” Ryan said again to a bemused look from his wife.

Rachel has had enough.

“I just can’t,” said Rachel while recalling the tense moment to Sarah-Jane.

Rachel and Ryan aren’t the only couple seemingly close to cracking under the pressure this week.

Viewers watched on Monday night as Tom and Sarah-Jane were similarly rocked by the pressure of third-to-last week on The Block, exploding at each other in wild scenes.

“You look like you want to neck yourself for being in my presence,” Sarah-Jane said to Tom, who in turn called his wife “an absolute feral rat”.

The comment clearly rattled Sarah-Jane, who explained that she “hates” the word “feral”.

“I’ll show you feral,” she said. “I just hate that word. Call me crazy, call me a psychopath, but I’m not feral.”

“He does love me, and I love him deeply,” she later told producers.

The Block continues tonight from 7.30pm on Channel 9
