Want to be mates with Rebel Wilson?
That’s what the Sydney-born Hollywood star is offering with Thursday’s announcement she is writing a memoir.
“This book is like me sitting down telling my deepest, darkest secrets to a friend, with some laughs along the way of course,” the 43-year-old funnywoman said, giving us an early peek at the eye-catching cover image of Rebel Rising.
“So when it’s released, ‘my friend’ will become YOU.”
Publishers HarperCollins said the book, due out in April 2024, will cover the “messy reality” of the Pitch Perfect star’s journey from dog-show groomer to A-lister, “constantly questioning ‘Am I good enough?’, ‘Will I ever find love?’ and ‘Will I ever change and become healthy?’.
“Rebel writes for the first time about her most personal and important moments in her life – from fertility issues, weight gain and loss, sexuality, overcoming shyness, rejections and much more.”
HarperCollins Australia publisher Georgia Frances King, who helped negotiate the book deal after a nine-way auction, said, “Rebel lives life unapologetically and is an inspiration to all women who want to live bold, dynamic lives. She’s whip-smart, she’s confident, she’s hilarious – all qualities that best represent our countrywomen on the international stage. Beyond the laughs, I hope this book will motivate readers to take hold of their potential.”
