Oprah Winfrey watches Nate Berkus marry his boyfriend Jeremiah Brent

OPRAH-FAVOURITE (and esteemed interior designer, TV host and author) Nate Berkus married his fiance Jeremiah Brent over the weekend in New York.

OPRAH-FAVOURITE (and esteemed interior designer, TV host and author) Nate Berkus married his fiance Jeremiah Brent over the weekend in New York.

According to Us Weekly, the couple said their vows in front of 220 guests at the iconic New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue (the first same-sex couple to do so).

The ceremony was officiated by Sheri Salata, president of Winfrey’s OWN network. Berkus wore a J. Crew suit and Brent wore Saint Laurent; the two exchanged identical gold bands from Van Cleef & Arpels.

Parents from both sides and siblings were among the guests, which included Oprah (of course), Rachael Ray, Busy Philipps and Elizabeth Hendrickson from The Young and the Restless.

Berkus and Brent were engaged in April 2013, after nine months of dating, with the interior designer popping the question during a trip to Peru.

The American Dream Builders host and Brent (Rachel Zoe’s former assistant) first stepped out as a couple back in December 2012. Indeed, it’s a happy ending for Berkus, who lost his partner, photographer Fernando Bengochea, when the Sri Lankan beach resort where the pair were holidaying was hit by the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004.
