What are the odds of a busker singing a hit song on the street, right as the famous singer behind it casually walks by?

That exact situation unfolded in Brisbane on Wednesday when Melbourne-born performer Inoxia began singing US superstar Teddy Swims’ chart-topping track, Lose Control.

Before she reached the chorus, Inoxia spotted Swims, 31, approaching her, prompting her to cover her mouth in shock before saying, “Get out of town …”

The budding star, who was filming herself singing in the city’s bustling Queen Street Mall, shared a hug with the Atlanta-born musician, who then grabbed a second microphone to join in.

At one point, Swims, real name Jaten Collin Dimsdale, appeared to forget the lyrics to his own song during the second verse, asking Inoxia if she had a “teleprompter”.

Sharing the video to her TikTok page, Inoxia wrote, “ARE YOU JOKING? TEDDY SWIMS SANG LOSE CONTROL WITH ME? IS THIS REAL?”

Swims himself commented on the clip, saying the “stars aligned” for their rare moment.

“Thanks for letting me join in,” he added.

The video has since attracted thousands of comments, with many complimenting Swims for being “so down to earth”.

Others couldn’t believe the coincidence of him walking by right as Inoxia began singing his song.

“This is insane. So so lucky he was randomly there,” one wrote.

“This seems real but literally how is it real,” another said.

“How does this even happen!!” a third added.

The duo also delighted onlookers by performing a duet of Rihanna’s song, Stay.

Swims originally found a prominent fanbase by posting covers on YouTube throughout 2019 and 2020, before finding international fame with the release of his 2023 song Lose Control.

He is currently embarking on a sellout tour of Australia, performing in Brisbane on Wednesday night.

Swims is next set to hit the stage at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Friday, followed by two shows in Melbourne over the weekend and a final concert in Perth on July 19.
