Police allege the man “struggled with police” as he was being searched, causing a senior constable minor injuries.

Roughly 12,000 people attended the annual New Year’s Day festival, headlined by electronic dance act Peking Duk, DJ Anna Lunoe and Brisbane singer Mallrat.

The festival, which as previously hosted several international acts like Alt-J, Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper, has had to severely downsize with an Australian-only line-up due to Covid-19.
