Katy Perry has used the Fourth of July holiday to plug her upcoming comeback song.
The US singer stripped down to her patriotic red, white and blue bedazzled swimsuit to mark the national holiday, while also taking the opportunity to promote her new single, Woman’s World.
“BB UR A FIREWORK,” she caption the photo on Instagram. “and speaking of work, WOMAN’S WORLD IS GOING TO WORK IN ONE WEEK HAPPY 4TH.”
In the photo, the 39-year-old paired her star-spangled, cut-out cossie with denim bottoms as she showed off her toned arms and abs while looking pensively into the distance.
Just weeks ago, Perry also teased a snippet of the music video for Woman’s World, which drops one day after the single’s release on July 11.
In the 10-second teaser clip, the pop star wears a very revealing, tiny white bikini as she sings along in a selfie-style video.
This being 2024, though, there’s some debate about whether these clips are the real thing or the work of AI.
“Sexy confident, so intelligent / she is heaven sent, so soft, so strong,” she sings over a midtempo electro beat.
This single will mark Perry’s first offering since 2020, when she released her album Smile, which produced a handful of underperforming singles including Daisies, Never Really Over and Cry About It Later.
Unfortunately, the album became her weakest-performing one yet, debuting at just No. 5 on the Billboard 200 charts in the US.

Perry’s return to music comes after she recently bid an emotional farewell to American Idol, where she had served as a judge for the past seven years. She finished her stint on the show in May.
“I’m just trying to make space for other things,” she told Entertainment Tonight ahead of her final episode.
“It’s not like me ending this show means I’m going to go retire on an island, even though that would be fabulous. I’m gonna go to work.”
