‘He slapped me so hard’: Singer Ava Max speaks out after being assaulted on stage by male fan
Pop star Ava Max was slapped on the face by a fan as she performed in concert, days after a similar incident happened to Bebe Rexha.
American pop star Ava Max was physically assaulted by an unruly fan onstage during her concert in Los Angeles last night.
The 29-year-old was in the middle of performing her hit song The Motto when a male fan allegedly jumped on stage and slapped her on the face.
Security guards attempted to stop the unidentified man, but he got close enough to make contact with the singer before he was dragged off stage.
Video footage of the incident has now gone viral, in which Max is seen being whacked on the forehead by the rogue concertgoer.
Although Max – real name Amanda Ava Koci – appeared calm onstage and continued to perform, she was furious and later took to Twitter to reveal she sustained an eye injury from the shock altercation.
“He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He’s never coming to a show again,” Max tweeted.
“Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!”

The incident comes days after fellow pop star Bebe Rexha was also assaulted by a fan who threw a mobile phone at the singer during her concert at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City.
The 33-year-old was left with a bruised eye and three stitches.
“I’m good,” Rexha later reassured fans as she posted two new photos on Instagram of her injuries.
Police have since arrested and charged Nicolas Malvagna, 27, from New Jersey with assault and aggravated harassment in connection to the incident involving Rexha.
“I was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny,” Malvagna reportedly told prosecutors, reported the New York Post.
