Charlie Puth reveals he tried to get Mac Miller sober before his death

SINGER Charlie Puth has spoke of his heartbreak over the rapper’s death, revealing he had tried to get him clean before his overdose.

How does addiction work?

CHARLIE Puth has revealed he tried to get Mac Miller sober in the months before his death from a suspected overdose.

The singer told E! News he felt he “didn’t do enough” to help before Miller’s sudden death last week.

“We talked almost every day and I don’t get a lot of friends who come into my life who I hit it off with so quickly,” Puth said.

“I had known him for about six months, but we became really close, we became really good friends and I always thought I’d be the one to help him get clean and to lead him on to the path of a good, clean, sober life.”

Ariana Grande’s rapper ex-boyfriend went into cardiac arrest at his LA home on Friday, People reported.

An autopsy has since been completed and his body was released to his family on Tuesday, with the cause of death being “deferred pending additional tests”, a Los Angeles County coroner spokeswoman told the magazine.

Over the weekend Miller’s mother shared a photo of her and the rapper attending a baseball game, captioning the photo with a love heart emoji.

Grande has also shared a tribute on Instagram to Miller, posting a candid black and white photo of him.

Miller and Grande split in May after almost two years of dating and the rapper was reported to be struggling following their breakup.

Miller, real name Malcolm McCormick, had spoken about his struggles with drug use and depression on multiple occasions.

In his 2014 mixtape Faces, Miller detailed using cocaine, angel dust and codeine and rapped that “a drug habit like Philip Hoffman will probably put me in a coffin”.
