Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, also known as “Yung Filly,” is accused of assaulting a woman in her 20s inside a Perth hotel room in September last year.

He was arrested in Brisbane and extradited to Perth by West Australian detectives on October 9 and charged with eight offences for assault, rape and strangulation.

Mr Barrientos told the magistrate on Tuesday he understood the charges, then pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault, one count of strangulation and four counts of sexual penetration without consent.

The matter has been moved to the higher District Court with a trial mention hearing listed for June 13.

Leaving court, the rapper said to reporters: “Good afternoon,” and “Enjoy the weather, it is a lovely day” before he made his way into a black Mercedes van waiting to pick him up after his court hearing.

Mr Barrientos is on bail with strict conditions and a personal undertaking of $100,000.
