Ruby Rose underwent a gruelling training regimen to get xXx ready

The gruelling training schedule ran “seven days a week” for the 30-year-old Aussie actress, who plays kick-ass sniper Adele Wolff in the upcoming third instalment of the series.
However, it was a labour of love for Rose.
She told news.com.au she “fell in love with Vin Diesel” after watching him in xXx (2002) and xXx: State of the Union (2005), describing him as the “coolest dude ever.”
“Vin has a heart of gold — he’s the most generous, giving, genuine, selfless human being that I’ve probably ever met ... he’s like my big brother.”
And he was by her side while she transformed her body in order to do her own stunts throughout the action-packed movie.
“Probably three or four days a week we did sniper training, then the other days were just exercise — fitness, strength ... a lot of strength!” Rose revealed.
“I do a lot of work [in the movie] like climbing a tree in the Dominican Republic at 4am with just silk ropes ... and I’d have to pull my body weight up, after ten hours of shooting the day before.”
It was optional, but the Orange Is The New Black star knew she wanted to keep up with Diesel and do her own stunts.
“I made sure I did so much training that I let them [producers] feel confident in me doing them,” she said.
“And Vin does his own stuff. Pretty much everyone [the cast] does their own stuff — I think they’ve almost purposely chosen people on this film who either had experience with extreme sports, or stunts, or martial arts so it was true to the franchise.”
With filming firmly behind them, Rose, who’s now dating The Veronicas’ Jess Origliasso, admitted it’s been hard to keep up her fitness.
“I was so ripped,” she joked sadly.
“But I realised if you don’t have Vin in the gym with you every morning, competing with you, it’s hard to get that level of muscle.”
xXx: Return of Xander Cage hits cinemas January 19.
