Ruby Rose reveals what her girl squad thinks of new girlfriend Jess Origliasso

RUBY Rose doesn’t need to get the tick of approval from her Taylor Swift-led girl squad to date The Veronicas’ Jess Origliasso — but luckily, she’s got it anyway.
The 30-year-old actress, who stars opposite Vin Diesel in the action-packed blockbuster xXx: Return of Xander Cage, revealed to news.com.au that she told Swift all about her newly-rekindled relationship.
“I talk to her [Taylor] about everything and everyone,” she said.
Rose is famously part of the A-list group comprising of Swift, models Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, and Cara Delevingne, and pop stars Lorde and Selena Gomez.
“I do think it’s funny, the whole ‘squad’ thing. I don’t think Taylor ever called it that ... I think the media ran with it because it sounds cool,” she laughed.
The Orange Is The New Black star made headlines over the past week after revealing she had fallen back in love with her ex-girlfriend, Jess.
The pair had originally dated back in 2008, and stayed friends ever since — until Rose offered to write, direct and feature in The Veronicas’ racy new music video for On Your Side.
And she says it didn’t take long for her to realise she was still in love with Jess.
“Probably the second I saw her [I knew],” she said.
“It definitely wasn’t planned. it just came out of nowhere. and it was a really delightful thing to happen.”
Her new relationship is just the cherry on top of what’s been a huge year for the Melbourne-born star.
The latest trailer for xXx Return of Xander Cage dropped this week, and it’s all about Rose.
In the movie, she plays sniper Adele Wolff, who is seen at the start protecting lions from big game hunters before being called to action by Xander Cage (Diesel).
“Vin is everything,” Rose gushed of her new friend.
“He’s the softest ... he’s like a teddy bear. I knew that doing the film with him would be an exceptional amount of fun, but I didn't realise how much fun.
“It was beyond expectations. I’m like, that’s not really a job!”
To most of the world, Rose’s ascension to superstardom has been a very quick journey.
However, the former MTV VJ and model had actually been trying to land a job in Los Angeles for years before landing the role of Stella Carlin in hit Netflix series Orange Is The New Black.
But ‘overnight success’ isn’t a label Rose has a problem with.
“It doesn’t annoy me — to the majority of the world, it must have felt like that,” she explained.
“I wasn’t anywhere on their radar ... and then Orange came out, and I was everywhere.
“To have my first role be such a big one, and on such an enormous TV show, and to be so well-received. Even I was like, ‘did that just happen?!’”
Rose added that it was surreal to walk onto a show that she’d spent hours binge-watching.
“I was definitely nervous because everyone was so familiar to me, and yet of course I didn’t know them,” she said.
“I was wondering if I’d be the outcast, but they were just the best teachers in everything.”
Rose is currently filming the shark drama Meg alongside Jason Statham.
