Jared Leto pictured looking completely unrecognisable on the House of Gucci set
Jared Leto has undergone his greatest transformation yet to portray Paulo Gucci in upcoming biographical crime drama House of Gucci.
Jared Leto has switched up his appearance for a movie role yet again, looking arguably the least recognisable in his career to date.
The actor is no stranger to undertaking physically transformative roles, from Suicide Squad to Dallas Buyers Club, but for the upcoming Gucci biographical crime drama House of Gucci, he’s been snapped looking far from his 49 years of age.
Set to portray Paolo Gucci in the film, Leto was photographed on set in Milan between takes in a striking purple corduroy suit with wrinkled skin, liver spots, grey hair and a very receding hairline – the only telling feature being his signature moustache.

It’s certainly not the first time he’s been pictured looking far from the Leto we know from the red carpet. In 2014, Leto dropped close to 20 kgs to play a transgender woman living with HIV in the 1980s in Dallas Buyers Club, going on to win an Oscar for the role. He lost around the same amount of weight for Requiem for a Dream in 2000.
In 2007, he gained around 30kg for Chapter 27, and to play the Joker in Suicide Squad, he reportedly went full method and stayed in character for the entire shoot, even sending castmates “used condoms and anal beads”.

His current project, House of Gucci, stars Adam Driver as murdered fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci and Lady Gaga as his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted for the assassination of her husband in 1995.
Gaga and Driver shared their own looks from the film last week in the Italian Alps, posting images of Driver in a knitted turtleneck with pilot-frame glasses, and Gaga dripping in gold jewellery with a cropped brunette hairstyle beneath a fur hat.
Follow-up photos see the pair in co-ordinating trench coats and chic day looks.
The film, which is directed by Ridley Scott and also stars Al Pacino, Jack Huston, Reeve Carney and Jeremy Irons, is based on the novel The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed by Sara Gay Forden.
It follows the story of Gucci’s murder by a hit man in 1995, which Reggiani was later convicted of plotting and orchestrating. She had been married to Gucci for 12 years until he left her for a much younger woman, finalising their divorce in 1991.
Reggiani, who became known as the “Black Widow,” was sentenced to 29 years in prison after a scandalous 1998 trial, while the hit man was sentenced to life.
The couple’s daughters, Alessandra and Allegra, asked that her conviction be overturned in 2000, claiming her brain tumour had affected her ability to reason, Vogue reported.
They were successful in reducing their mother’s sentence to 26 years, and she was released in October 2016 due to good behaviour.
House of Gucci is set to hit US theatres in November.
