‘Totally isolated’: Jared Leto leaves 12-day silent retreat and finds out about coronavirus pandemic

It is all the world is talking about, but for Jared Leto, news of coronavirus has come as a bit of a shock.

Jared Leto just learned about the coronavirus pandemic after emerging from a silent retreat with no access to the outside world.

“Wow. 12 days ago I began a silent meditation in the desert. We were totally isolated. No phone, no communication etc. We had no idea what was happening outside the facility,” he wrote on Instagram on Tuesday. “Walked out yesterday into a very different world. One that’s been changed forever. Mind blowing – to say the least.”

The 48-year-old actor says that he is just now trying to get up to speed on all he has missed.

“I’m getting messages from friends and family all around the globe and catching up on what’s going on,” he said.

The Oscar winner also urged fans to keep their spirits up.

“Hope you and yours are OK,” he said. “Sending positive energy to all. Stay inside. Stay safe.”

It comes as several Hollywood stars have tested positive for coronavirus, including Idris Elba, 47, who revealed his diagnosis on Twitter on Monday.

In a tweet, he said that despite the circumstances, he feels “OK”.

This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing 👊🏾👊🏾 No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ

“This morning I tested positive for COVID-19. I feel OK, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus,” he tweeted.

“Stay home people and be pragmatic. I’ll keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”

Meanwhile, Tom Hanks has been released from the Gold Coast University hospital, while wife Rita Wilson remains in an isolation ward after the A-list couple were both diagnosed with coronavirus last week.
