Natalie Bassingthwaighte may be all coupled up with her new girlfriend, but she cut a solo figure on the red carpet in Sydney overnight.

The former Neighbours star stepped out for the first time since going public with her same-sex relationship with new partner Pip Roth, wowing at the Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady cruise ship launch event in a sparkly pink mini-dress.

The 48-year-old set off her look with a bold red lippie and styled her hair with large curls reminiscent of old Hollywood glam at the gathering hosted by Sir Richard Branson at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay.

The outing comes after the actress and singer announced she was a new relationship since splitting from husband of 12 years and Rogue Traders bandmate Cameron McGlinchey.

“Now I can speak from my own mouth, on my own truth, and that feels rewarding. I’m OK. Everything is OK, and everyone is OK,” she told Stellar magazine and its podcast Something To Talk About.

“We’re in a good space. It feels liberating,” she added of Roth. “But before? It’s terrifying and it’s debilitating because you’re waiting for someone to snap a picture of you and make it salacious. To live like that is … oh, it’s not fun. And I’ve been doing that for a little while now. So it’s nice to say it.”

Also looking red-hot at the Virgin launch was Sonia Kruger. The 58-year-old wore a red mini dress that draped across the front and had a plunging neckline that showed off her Prada bralette.

Virgin boss Branson appeared to approve of Kruger’s look, giving her a peck on the hand as she posed on the red carpet.

Singer Natalie Imbruglia was also at the event, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Branson, Erin Molan, Lisa Origliasso and Jessica Origliasso of The Veronicas, Michelle Bridges and Below Deck Mediterranean reality star Hannah Ferrier.

Imbruglia, 48, recently toured Australia with Irish band The Corrs, during which she was the supporting act alongside Toni Childs and Adelaide-based pop band Germein.
