Travis Barker has sold his “extremely rare” Qantas boarding pass for more than $12,000 at a charity auction.

The Blink-182 drummer toured Australia with his iconic 90s punk band, which includes Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge, in February, marking the trio’s first reunion in 10 years.

Now, Barker has offered up his Sydney to Perth flight ticket with the local airline on the auction website Trophy, in which a portion of the proceeds from its sale will go to the Lost But Not Forgotten CA organisation, a teen adoption agency.

A photo of the boarding pass shows Barker, 48, travelled in business class in seat 7E on February 7. He had scribbled ‘I know I got Angels watching over me …’ on the pass, which was first listed for $8000 before selling for $12,547.

The special relevance of this specific boarding pass is unclear, though the trip marked Barker’s first visit to Australia in more than 20 years.

Further, Barker only resumed air travel fairly recently after he was involved in a fatal plane crash in 2008.

“A true one of a kind item for the ultimate Travis Barker collector. Having not flown for over 13 years following his near fatal plane crash, he was finally able to tour again overseas recently,” the Trophy listing reads. “This extremely rare commercial boarding pass is not just a piece of music memorabilia, it’s a true piece of Travis himself, complete with original handwritten note and cross drawing.”

Barker spent several weeks down under earlier this year with his wife, US reality star Kourtney Kardashian, and their newborn son Rocky, who was born in November.

The rocker avoided flying for 13 years in the wake of his plane crash, having already held a deep fear of flying in the years prior to the fatal accident in September 2008.

Barker was one of only two survivors on-board a private plane carrying six passengers, which crashed onto a nearby highway during takeoff in South Carolina.

He and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein managed to escape the plane, before being transported to hospital in critical conditions, suffering severe burns as a result of an explosion.

Barker spent more than 11 weeks in hospital, where he underwent several surgeries and skin grafts. Goldstein died of an overdose in 2009.

In August 2021, Barker flew to Cabo, Mexico, with Kardashian, which was his first flight since the accident.

Speaking to GQ afterwards, Barker revealed how Kardashian helped him overcome his fear.

After encouraging her then-boyfriend to accompany her to Cabo, Barker suggested she sleep at her house that evening so he could think about it – something he acknowledged was unusual for the tight-knit duo.

“I was trying to get out of [the Cabo trip],” Barker said.

“She’s like, ‘I’m gonna spend the night with you. I’m staying the night with you and we’re gonna go to the airport.’

“She just knew, and she stuck by me and toughed it out. And it was the best flight. I wasn’t scared once.”

The couple married the following year in Portofino, Italy.
