‘Terrifying’: Cameron Diaz recalls horror moment Jamie Foxx collapsed
Cameron Diaz has opened up about a horrifying moment she experienced with her close friend and co-star, Jamie Foxx.
Cameron Diaz has opened up about the “terrifying” moment Jamie Foxx suffered a stroke on-set.
The pair are currently promoting their new Netflix movie Back in Action, but it turns out Diaz’s comeback film proved to be one of her hardest to film behind the scenes.
During an interview with Extra, Diaz, 52, opened up about how her friend of 25 years, co-star Foxx, suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke.
The 57-year-old star’s stroke caused serious memory loss that resulted in him forgetting almost three weeks of his life.
“For every person who knows Jamie, like, it was terrifying,” Diaz recalled.
“For everybody who loves Jamie, the world, like, everybody was concerned. I can’t even imagine how he feels.”
Foxx shared that watching the movie back proved difficult for him because it forced him to relive the horror incident that almost took his life.
“A couple little things that I eyed when the movie was on, I said, ‘Oh, that was, you know, it was around that day when things kind of got weird,’” he explained.
Opening up about returning to acting following the health scare, Foxx added: “It’s a way for me to get it out, it’s a way for me to let people know, it’s a way for me to say thank you, and now it’s a way for me to say go check out Back in Action. Go see the bounce-back, go see how good it feels to be back.”
Despite the horror incident that almost spelled disaster for Foxx, Diaz insisted she had no regrets about signing onto do the movie, despite retiring a decade earlier.

Diaz added, “To be privileged enough to still be able to come back and do a movie after 10 years, you know, to get to make movies still and do it at this level and to make something this entertaining and fun for everyone, that was, you know, to me, I felt really honoured to be able to do and do it with Jamie.”
