A one-minute video capturing the humble moments of the King’s coronation has pulled on the heartstrings of royal enthusiasts as the big day draws to an end.

The short clip, which was posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media accounts, has provided fans of the monarchy with a behind-the-scenes insight into the day’s events.

A montage of footage capturing the King’s Procession to Westminster Abbey also features in the video featuring Life Guards on horses, members of the defence force and the King’s guards.

While the coronation itself isn’t included in the clip, a close up of King Charles and Queen Camilla is featured with the pair being escorted back to Buckingham Palace in their Gold State Coach, which has been used in every coronation since King William IV in 1831.

The Cambridges are also featured again, this time in a carriage forming part of the Coronation Procession which departed Westminster Abbey.

It wouldn’t be a royal event without footage of hundreds of royal supporters captured lining central London’s streets waving the British flag.

As the video draws to a close, the royal family’s iconic balcony moment is captured on film featuring the coronation fly-past which painted the sky in red, white and blue, before ending with King Charles and Queen Camilla waving to the crowd.

“What. A. Day,” the clip is captioned.

“Thank you to everyone who made it happen.”

The “wholesome” video, which has received five million views on Twitter and Instagram in addition to several more on TikTok, has awed royalists.

“This is just wonderful, thank you for sharing these private moments … what a wonderful day,” one fan tweeted.

“Pure class, composure, grace, and poise. Simply exquisite. Thank you for sharing this reel. The Wales family is beautiful and a credit to Britain,” an Instagram comment read.

A third said: “Loving those intimate scenes at the beginning. Almost like any other parents with their children, rushing to a family gathering”.

Others applauded the family’s social media team for creating the memorable video in such a short amount of time.

“Yes! This is what we want to see! Your social media is improving so much & I love it! You all looked magnificent today,” one comment read.

A third person added: “What an amazing video! Very well made! I’ve been watching a lot of videos today and this one gave me goosebumps! You guys have a really great social media team!”

A number of photos from the coronation were also posted to the royal family’s social media pages and stories to commemorate the event.

King Charles’ coronation is just the second to be televised, following Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953, which was viewed by 27 million people in the United Kingdom.
