Royals recycle Thomas Markle’s wedding suit

AMID reports he has been “frozen out” by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Thomas Markle’s wedding suit has been recycled and worn at Ascot.

IT WAS supposed to be worn by Thomas Markle when he walked his daughter down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry last month.

But after a photo staging scandal and heart problems forced him to drop out of attending, the suit specially made for Meghan Markle’s dad has been recycled and worn by someone else.

Sports PR Johnno Spence confirmed to UK newspaper The Sunday Telegraph that he had purchased Thomas’ wedding outfit from a tailor in exclusive London clothing district Savile Row.

Mr Spence visited the tailor to get a suit made for last week’s Royal Ascot, but it turned out he had almost the same dimensions as Mr Markle, so purchased the already made outfit instead.

“It was a shame Mr Markle couldn’t attend his daughter’s wedding. But you could say his misfortune was my good luck,” Mr Spence told the newspaper.

As well as purchasing the suit, Mr Spence also bought additional clothing made by the tailor and intended for Mr Markle to wear while in the UK.

“[The tailor’s] face lit up and he said ‘Well, actually I’ve got the perfect thing for you, a tail suit, a summer suit and three shirts we made for Mr Markle, but unfortunately he couldn’t take them.’”

Mr Markle’s relationship with Meghan and Harry is believed to be under more strain after he gave an interview to Good Morning Britain last week.

The couple were reportedly not warned in advance about the TV appearance, for which Mr Markle was paid $AU13,435.

During the interview Mr Markle discussed when the couple would have children and recounted private conversations he had with Harry about Brexit and Donald Trump.

“There has been nothing from the palaces, which he is surprised about. He just hopes the interview hasn’t affected things,” a source told The Sun.

“He wanted to discuss travelling to the UK, or the couple visiting him. He still hasn’t met Harry, and is desperate for it to happen.”

According to a royal inside, Kensington Palace was “furious” Mr Markle had discussed private matters.
