MEGHAN Markle’s dad has said his daughter looks “beautiful” after watching her get married from his hospital bed.

Thomas Markle was unable to attend the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after having heart surgery in the US this week, leaving Prince Charles to fill in for him.

After watching the ceremony, he told TMZ: “My baby looks beautiful and she looks very happy.

He says watching the ceremony was “emotional and joyful”, The Sun reports.

Last Monday, the famously reclusive former TV lighting director insisted he could no longer attend after it was revealed that he had been staging paparazzi photos for cash, explaining that he didn’t want to “embarrass” his daughter or the royal family any further. He also said he had recently had a heart attack.

The very next day, Thomas changed his mind, telling TMZ he wanted to attend the wedding after all.

But by Wednesday, it was all over. Thomas was forced to undergo major surgery for his “seriously damaged” heart, dashing any lingering plans he may have had to go to England.

Meghan and Prince Harry tied the knot today with a groundbreaking modern ceremony complete with a gospel choir and enthusiastic American bishop.

The 33-year-old royal told his blushing bride “you look amazing” as the couple tied the knot in front of a star-studded crowd.

Meghan wore a stunning off-the-shoulder Givenchy Haute Couture dress and a dazzling 1932 dazzling Mary Diamond Bandeau tiara lent to her by the Queen.

The bride also wore a stunning five metre long veil, decorated with hand-embroidered flowers representing all 53 countries of the Commonwealth — a design detail requested by Meghan herself.

Prince Harry couldn’t keep his eyes off his bride — answering “I will” as he tied the knot with his US actress love.

The royal had shown his romantic side, hand-picking several flowers yesterday from their private garden at Kensington Palace to add to the bespoke bridal bouquet.

Meghan glowed as she answered the same, with the crowds of thousands outside the chapel bursting into applause.

The couple today exchanged their vows in front of a star-studded crowd of hundreds including the Clooneys, Elton John and the Beckhams.
