Prince Harry, Meghan Markle could return to UK together in weeks

Prince Harry is expected to attend another event in the UK to honour Princess Diana in September, and reports suggest Meghan Markle will be by his side.

Prince Harry is due to return to the UK in ten weeks for another ceremony to honour Princess Diana, and reports suggest Meghan Markle may join him.

Harry, 36, and William, 39, reunited for the second time this year at the unveiling of their late mother’s statue at Kensington Palace on Friday, sharing an hour together at the service followed by a brief reception.

And Harry is set to return yet again in September to join more than 100 friends, family and charity leaders for another memorial event in honour of Diana, who died in 1997.

His wife, Meghan, 39, could also return with him, which would mark the first time the former actress has been in the UK since their final engagement as senior royals in March last year.

It would be Harry’s third time back home since the couple moved to the US, after he attended Prince Philip’s funeral in April and the statue unveiling on Friday.

But sources acknowledge it may still be too early for Meghan to travel, as it will come just two months after the birth of their second child, daughter Lilibet Diana.

The September event is likely to be at Kensington Palace, and is expected to be confirmed this month.

Despite their smiling display as Princes William and Harry reunited on Friday, an insider told The Sun: “There were no peace talks and distance remains there.

“It is a step forward but this was not the time or the place. September is a date pencilled in for a more extensive celebration of the statue, and Harry will want to return.”

The brothers’ brief meeting last week was largely down to ex-private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, 61, who acted as a chaperone.

Harry flew home to LA 24 hours after the statue unveiling. He spent a week in the UK, most of it in isolation at Frogmore Cottage.
