Prince Harry and Meghan step out at charity event after press outburst
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made their first joint appearance in London since their brutal smackdown of the press - and Meghan recycled an iconic outfit.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made their first joint appearance in London since Prince Harry’s extraordinary smackdown of the British press.
The Duke of Sussex slammed the media for its “relentless propaganda” against his wife earlier this month, and announced the couple were taking legal action against the Daily Mail over its publication of a private letter Meghan wrote to her father last year.
The Duchess then appeared to lay low for a few days, while Harry visited a school on World Mental Health Day and drew laughs in a video with singer Ed Sheeran.
But the two reappeared together on Tuesday night as they attended a charity awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
All eyes were on the Duchess as she recycled the $873 P.A.R.O.S.H dress she donned for her engagement interview with Harry in 2017, which she teamed with the $2241 Sentaler coat she wore when she attended her first Christmas church service at Sandringham.
The couple smiled as they arrived hand-in-hand at the WellChild Awards, a night dedicated to celebrating “the inspiring qualities of some of the UK’s seriously ill young people”, as well as the people who care for them.
The pair would meet some of the young award winners before Prince Harry, a patron of the charity, presented the award for most inspirational child and delivered a speech, Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

“Over 100,000 children and young people are living with serious and complex health conditions,” the statement said.
“Through a nationwide network of WellChild Children’s Nurses, home makeover projects and family support programs, WellChild works to give this growing population of children and young people the best chance to thrive — properly supported at home, together with their families.”
WellChild was one of the four charities Harry and Meghan chose to benefit from the generous donations they received from the public following the birth of their son, Archie.
The couple also donated some of the gifts he received to South African children and families in need during their recent royal tour in Africa.
