Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran share sneak peek inside Princess Eugenie’s cottage
When Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran shared a video for World Mental Health Day, some viewers noticed an interesting detail in the background.
Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran gave fans a sneak peek into Princess Eugenie’s royal cottage when they teamed up to promote World Mental Health Day.
The ginger-haired duo met at Ivy Cottage, the Princess of York’s home on the grounds of Kensington Palace in London, to film a short Instagram video encouraging Brits not to “suffer in silence”, according to British media.
The cottage sits just behind Kensington Palace, the official residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and around the corner from Nottingham Cottage, where Harry and Meghan first lived together after the prince popped the question there over a roast chicken.
In the video, Sheeran rings the cottage’s doorbell — which chimes to the tune of God Save the Queen — before Prince Harry opens the door and invites him inside.
There had been some speculation over whether the video was filmed at Frogmore Cottage, where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex now live with their son, Archie.
But eagle-eyed watchers noticed a black and white photo of Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank hanging on the wall.
Sheeran is known to be good friends with Eugenie’s sister, Princess Beatrice.

The pair then sit in Eugenie’s neutral-coloured dining room for an awkward exchange.
“People just don’t understand what it’s like for people like us. You know with the jokes and the snide comments and I just feel like it’s time we stood up and said we’re not going to take this anymore. We are ginger and we’re going to fight,” Sheeran says.
“OK, slightly awkward. It might have been a miscommunication, but this is about World Mental Health Day,” Harry replies.
The video marked the beginning of a busy day for the Prince, who spent the morning chatting about mental health with Year 7 and 8 students at a school in St Ann’s, Nottingham.
“St Ann’s in Nottingham is a community that is very special to the Duke,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“His royal highness has spent a significant amount of private and public time in the city and has visited Nottingham Academy on several occasions.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Nottingham Academy in November 2017 as their first official visit following their engagement.”
He then spoke to Year 11 students at a school assembly, before watching a ‘Hip Hopera’ at a nearby community recording studio where young people can go to learn film and music skills.
Earlier this week, Prince Harry, Meghan, Prince William, and Kate featured in a special, three-minute film about mental health that was broadcast across most UK television channels.

The film followed survey results showing more than 83 per cent of people in the UK had felt anxious, stressed or low, or had had trouble sleeping in the last 12 months.
“Myself and Prince Harry, want to ensure that not just today but every day, you look after yourself, your friends and those around you,” Sheeran wrote on Instagram.
“There’s no need to suffer in silence — share how you’re feeling, ask how someone is doing and listen for the answer, be willing to ask for help when you need it, and know that we are all in this together.”
