Meghan speaks out after posting viral ‘cringe’ video of birthing suite dance
After generating headlines for her very unexpected dance video, Meghan has made it clear how she feels about the drama.
Meghan appears to have brushed off criticism of her “cringe” pregnant dance video, declaring that she’s “so excited” about the future in a new post.
The Duchess of Sussex used the official Instagram page of her brand, As Ever, to share a new picture of herself on the beach in a white sleeveless dress, writing: “So excited for all the good to come! Running into the weekend like [wave emoji].”
It came just days after Meghan divided followers with the release of a throwback video in honour of her and Prince Harry’s daughter’s fourth birthday, which featured the pair of them taking part in a viral TikTok dance challenge in the birthing suite on the day she was born.
“Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates … so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work – there was only one thing left to do!” she captioned the video of the couple dancing to the “Baby Mama Dance Song”.
While it appeared to be designed as a relatable moment, it didn’t quite land with a lot of her followers, who branded it “peak cringe”.
“I feel nauseous,” one person tweeted in reaction to the clip.
“Oh my,” added another. “That’s … really … awful.”
“They are cringe to the max!” a third remarked.
Some, however, offered their support: “This is everything! Harry on beat and Meghan dropping it like it’s hot. They look like they have so much fun together.”
“Bet Lili came quickly after those dance moves. It helps,” added one user.
“I love this so much. Who knew that Prince Harry & Meghan Markle were hot steppers?” said another.
Meghan also shared a video showing how her family celebrated Lili’s fourth birthday, with she and Harry taking their two kids to Disneyland for “two days of pure joy”.
Despite all four of them featuring in the footage, Meghan continued her policy of covering the children’s faces, using emojis to obscure their appearances.
