Kate’s brother shares moving post
Kate Middleton’s brother shared his support for the Princess of Wales following her shock cancer announcement with moving post
Kate Middleton’s brother James Middleton has posted a heartwarming message for his sister following the shock announcement of the Princesses cancer diagnosis.
“Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together,” Mr Middleton posted to Instagram alongside a picture of him and the Princess at a young age.
“As a family, we will climb this one with you too,” he then posted with a heart emoji and a mountain emoji.
After weeks of intensifying speculation from media and the public, Middleton’s shock diagnosis was announced via a video at 6pm, UK time on Friday.
In the video the Princess of Wales, 42, explained that cancer was discovered after her abdominal surgery in January.
“The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” she said in the video.
She explained she was undergoing the early stages of preventive chemotherapy, but did not reveal what type of cancer she had.
In the video, Kate said that she was getting “stronger every day”,
“I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits,” she said.
The revelation comes off the back of news in February that King Charles is also undergoing treatment for an unspecified cancer.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman told the BBC that the King is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did” and has “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks” since they were both in hospital.
