Kate Middleton stunned by footballer’s cheeky act

Well, this was unexpected. Footage has captured the moment a young boy left the Princess of Wales momentarily stunned during a royal appearance.

Kate Middleton has been given quite a surprise by a cheeky member of the wheelchair rugby squad during an official royal visit.

The Princess of Wales, 41 – who is patron of the Rugby Football League – made a solo appearance at the Allam Sports Centre in Hull, northern England, on Thursday to help raise awareness of disability sports.

In footage shared from the event, Kate was seen chatting with some of the athletes before jumping in shock after a young boy took the unusual approach of calling out “boo!” while tickling the senior royal’s waist from behind.

The mother-of-three clearly found it hilarious, whipping around to see who it was before bursting into giggles and shaking hands with him.

During the visit, Kate also joined a training session with the World Cup-winning English side, enthusiastically cheering as her team scored against their rivals.

The glamorous royal ditched her recent suited look in favour of a much more appropriate tracksuit and polo shirt for the occasion.

Kate also appeared to still be suffering from an injury sustained earlier this month while trampolining with her kids at Windsor, as her hand remained wrapped in bandages.

Before hitting the court, she admitted to the team: “I’m worried about my finger, but willing to try.”

Her attempt certainly impressed English coach Tom Coyd, who told The Sun: “She took to manoeuvring the chair really quickly.

“I’m not just saying this because it’s her, but it’s the first time I’ve ever seen anyone score a conversion at their first attempt.

“ … She was a natural … She blew me away to be honest.”

It’s certainly not the first time Kate’s athleticism has been on display.

The Princess of Wales regularly gets involved in different sports on her royal circuit, and she and Prince William are known for being fiercely competitive.

During a surprise joint appearance on Mike Tindall’s podcast, The Good, The Bad & the Rugby last month, Kate joked that they weren’t even able to finish tennis matches.

“I don’t know where this has come from,” Kate quipped.

“I don’t think we’ve actually been able to finish a game of tennis. It becomes a mental challenge between the two of us.”

William chimed in, confirming they try to “out-mental” each other.

The couple was then asked by the podcast hosts whether this trait had been passed down to their children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, with Princess Anne quickly jumping in: “Just a little bit, I think”.
