Australian darling Natalie Bassingthwaighte has split from her former bandmate and husband of 13 years, according to a new report.
The star Aussie singer and her husband Cameron McGlinchey are said to have “quietly ended their marriage”, The Herald Sun claimed on Friday.
Bassingthwaighte, 47, and her drummer husband, also 47, reportedly split late last year and are “working amicably to co-parent their two children”, friends of the couple told the publication.
The pair, who married in 2011, share daughter Harper, 13, and son Hendrix, 10.
The red carpet couple first met while working in Aussie rock band Rogue Traders, which formed in Melbourne in 2002. Together, they created hit singles Voodoo Child and One of My Kind, with Bassingthwaighte as lead singer and McGlinchey on the drums.
The pair quickly became an Aussie “it” couple and married at a glamorous ceremony in St Kilda, Melbourne, with Bassingthwaighte arriving in a white vintage Rolls Royce, dressed in a embroidered J’Aton gown and carrying their young daughter in her arms.
The couple sold their home in Melbourne in 2020 and relocated their young family to Byron Bay, with Bassingthwaighte at the time saying she needed to embrace a more laid-back lifestyle.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Natalie chose to rent in the coastal town, but hoped eventually to snap up a permanent property.
While it’s not known how much their Melbourne abode sold for, the couple originally bought it for a little more than $2.5 million at auction ten years ago.
Prior to joining the Rogue Traders in 2004, Bassingthwaighte had an illustrious small screen career, starring as Izzy Hoylan on Neighbours from 2003. She kept up the role until 2007 as she toured with the rock band.
Bassingthwaighte later enamoured herself to a whole new audience as the host of So You Can Think You Can Dance.
More recently, she has worked on Foxtel’s new travel series Luxury Escapes.
