Singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte and her rocker husband Cameron McGlinchey have split.
The red carpet couple first met while working in Aussie rock band Rogue Traders, who created hit singles Voodoo Child and One of My Kind, with Bassingthwaighte as lead singer and McGlinchey on the drums.
Years later they married at an intimate wedding in 2011, with the former X Factor judge arriving to St Kilda’s Stokehouse restaurant in a white vintage Rolls Royce, dressed in a lavishly embroidered J’Aton gown with their young daughter in her arms.
Thirteen years on and the couple have quietly ended their marriage, with friends close to the pair saying they’re working amicably to co-parent their two children, Harper and Hendrix.
The marriage breakdown is understood to have happened late last year.
They had relocated their young family from Melbourne in 2020, selling up their Bayside pile to move to celebrity NSW coastal hotspot Byron Bay, with Bassingthwaighte at the time saying she needed to embrace a more laid-back lifestyle.
One of Australia’s most recognisable stars, Bassingthwaighte first appeared on the small screen as the “homewrecker” Izzy Hoylan on Neighbours from 2003 to 2007.
She later enamoured herself to a whole new audience as the bubbly host on So You Can Think You Can Dance.
Last year she created headlines in her memorable role in Alanis Morissette’s jukebox musical Jagged Little Pill, with many noting Bassingthwaighte was diving deep into the lead role.
She has since been working on Foxtel’s new travel series Luxury Escapes, living her best life out on Instagram and back smiling at red carpet events such as the recent Virgin Voyages.
