Kylie Minogue has signed a seven-figure deal to film a fly-on-the-wall Netflix documentary.

The Aussie pop legend has experienced major success around the world over the last year, and it sparked a bidding war with streaming giants recently.

In the end, according to The Mirror, Netflix bosses beat rivals Apple+ and Disney to the rights to Minogue’s life story, which is set to film later this year.

A source said: “There was a serious bidding war over this. Kylie’s had an incredible life, from starring in Neighbours to becoming a pop icon and still dominating the charts decades later. She has a massive fanbase so there’s no question it will attract a huge audience. That’s why the offers went so high – everyone’s very excited.”

Minogue’s wild career resurgence took her by surprise last year after the huge success of Padam Padam.

After it shot to the top of the charts, the Aussie icon launched a hugely successful Vegas residency which came to an end last month.

However, following its success, she’s reportedly received an open invitation to return.

Earlier this year, she celebrated her win at the Grammy Awards after taking out the 2024 Best Pop Dance Recording for her electro-pop hit Padam Padam – her first win in 20 years. She previously won in 2004 for Best Dance Recording for her hit Come Into My World.

Her win was announced ahead of the televised ceremony in Crypto.com Arena while she was getting ready in her hotel room before the red carpet.

Taking to social media with a celebratory video, the singer could be seen being told by someone, “Two-time Grammy winner”, as she screamed and danced around in a bathrobe. Minogue was also named Global Icon at the BRIT Awards earlier this month, where she was recognised as a “master of musical reinvention” for her 36 years — “and counting” — of music.

Last year, Minogue performed a sell out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, and Seven bought the rights to air the special on Channel 7 and 7plus earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Minogue is believed to be hard at work on the follow-up to her latest album, with rumours suggesting it could be released as early as later this year.
