Kyle Sandilands reveals he’s scheduled for a throat operation
After weeks of public speculation surrounding his health, radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands has revealed he’s scheduled for a ‘throat operation’.
Kyle Sandilands has opened up about his health concerns again on KIIS FM this week, revealing he’s booked in for a “throat operation” in the coming months.
While Sandilands suggested the procedure was imminent on air on Wednesday morning, he did not provide further details on his health situation.

The topic was raised during a segment on The Kyle & Jackie 'O' Show with their resident psychic Georgina Walker, when Walker suggested an “unlucky day” was looming for the host in July.
“I think I do have to have an operation on my throat,” Sandilands responded.
“It's not the 8th of July by any chance?” Walker asked, to which he said: “Oh my god, actually I don't know. I go today to find out what the date is. Imagine if it's the 8th of July?”
The KIIS FM host has been undergoing a series of medical tests lately as a result of his high blood pressure.
In May, he told his co-host Jackie O that he was shocked by some of the advice he was given by his doctor.
“The guy said, ‘no sex, no drugs, no running around, no gym work, no nothing’,” Kyle said. “He said sex and going for a number two on the toilet is when your blood pressure really elevates. A lot of people die on the shi**er, like Elvis.”
Kyle said that he’s now genuinely worried about doing “a number two”.
“Every time I’m doing a sh*t I’m thinking, is this going to be it?” he said.
“I’m thinking of it every day. You’ve got to go to the bathroom but I’m paranoid about it.”
The toilet confession came after Kyle opened up about his mental health struggles following a controversial appearance on 60 Minutes, in which he joked that he was battling a serious health condition.
Despite speculation Kyle Sandilands was poised to reveal a serious health condition in an “emotionally charged” profile on 60 Minutes, the interview turned out to be nothing more than a joke.
“There’s a condition that I’ve been diagnosed with and I haven’t spoke to anyone about,” the program teased, with both Sandilands and co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson in tears.
“No, no. There’s nothing wrong with me,” Sandilands explained when asked if he was joking.
Addressing the controversy the following day, Sandilands admitted he’d used the gag to cover up his real feelings.
“The honest truth of why I was about to cry with all that breakdown stuff is because inside, I’m very, very sad. But it wasn’t the right forum to bring it up,” he told Jackie O through tears.
“When you said, ‘I’m very worried about him’. A wave of emotion went through me, and I realised I was losing control, so I had to make something up as a joke.”
The radio star later admitted “things aren’t good health-wise” at the moment and that he would be undergoing more tests, including a colonoscopy and a CAT scan.
