British media personality Katie Price has opened up about her harrowing year after the murder of one her close friends and deaths of several others.

Kate Price: The life of a model, mother and reality star

Katie Price has opened up about her nightmare year that saw her friend murdered, two others die from COVID-19 and the passing of close pal Nikki Grahame, all while facing losing her mother to terminal illness.

The 42-year-old appeared on British television show Steph’s Packed Lunch to reveal why she had been holding her loved ones close after a difficult year.

Popular restaurant owner murdered

“You really do have to look after your loved ones, people around you,” former model Price told host Steph McGovern, going on to detail a year dotted with heartbreak.

“I’ve lost so many people, not just to COVID, this year. One of my friends got murdered – she was from Brighton and owned a restaurant, you may have seen it in the paper.”

Sue Addis, 69, was murdered in January, The Daily Mail reported. Ms Addis ran two popular Brighton eateries frequented by stars including Price – Donatello’s and Pinnochio’s.

She died after suffering multiple stab wounds during an alleged ‘altercation’ at her home.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged over the murder will face trial in August.

Two friends lost to COVID-19

“We’ve lost two people to COVID, now we’ve lost Nikki (Grahame),” she added, after the Big Brother star sadly passed away last week after a 30-year battle with anorexia.

Former bridesmaid battling cancer

Price went on to reveal she’d been trying reach out to former close pal and bridesmaid Sarah Harding.

The 39-year-old pop singer from Girls Aloud sent shockwaves through the music industry when she revealed her terminal cancer diagnosis last year.

Harding was told Christmas 2020 would be her last after her breast cancer advanced to other parts of her body, she wrote in her recently released memoir.

“Now there’s Sarah Harding – she was my bridesmaid,” mum-of-five Price continued, admitting that the pair had “lost touch” over the years.

“I’ve left her an Instagram message to get in contact – it would be nice to go through memories, happy memories, so it’s not all doom and gloom.”

Nikki Grahame’s tragic passing

Earlier this week, Price paid tribute to Big Brother star Grahame on Instagram, sharing that she’d recently received a voice note from her that she hadn’t opened until her death.

In the message, Grahame had asked her to pay her a visit in hospital — a request Price received too late.

“I’m just so shocked and so gutted to hear this news and really upset set to hear her voice message I never saw and just opened,” she wrote in her tribute.

“Nikki you were fabulous and made me laugh so much RIP beautiful.”

Speaking on Steph’s Packed Lunch, she said, “I’m so gutted about Nikki. I’ve known her for years and she’s so funny.

“I was in The Priory (Hospital) last year and people took hold of my Instagram and deleted everyone off. Sometimes you lose touch with people.

“On the day she died I looked on my Instagram – I don’t know why I did but it was really weird – and there was an unopened voice message on there to me.”

Referring to her treatment after shattering both her feet in a horror fall last July, she said, “I hadn’t realised, where I’d been going into hospital for my feet she was there.”

She went on, “(Nikki) was saying, ‘I know you’re here a lot, come and see me, I really want to see you. I’m sorry about your feet’ and this and that.

“I never heard it and of course if I had I’d have gone to see her. I didn’t know that every week I was passing the same place as her. I’m really gutted about it.”

The British reality star died last Friday at the age of 38 after a long battle with anorexia.

Price’s mum ‘hasn’t got long to live’

The star has also recently opened up about her terminally ill mum not having long left to live.

“My mum is my absolute rock, my absolute best friend,” she said.

“To be told she’s got an incurable breathing disease breaks my heart. Sadly, she hasn’t got long left to live.”

In her appearance on Steph’s Packed Lunch, Price is seen speaking to her mum, Amy, via video call. Amy is on an oxygen supply with terminal idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable lung condition.

“I haven’t given up yet. I’ve got to accept the fact that I know I’m going to deteriorate,” the 69-year-old told her famous daughter.

Pregnancy rumours

Amid it all, Price is hoping to some day start a family with Essex car dealer boyfriend Carl Woods.

She is already mum to Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, who she shares with Peter Andre, as well as Jett, seven, and Bunny, six, with ex-husband Kieran Hayler and severely disabled son Harvey, 18, with Dwight Yorke.

Speaking to a fan on a messaging app recently about her desire to have another child with Woods, she said, “I cannot wait to have another baby. I just don’t like being pregnant.”

But she’s hit back at whispers she’s already expecting, saying she’s just “put on weight”.
