IT WAS a battle of big names in Hollywood as Floyd Mayweather took on Manny Pacquiao in the “Fight of the Century” but one person who Aussie audiences couldn’t help but spot in the crowd was none other than billionaire James Packer.
Sitting front and centre in the fifth row the casino businessman and Hollywood producer was mixing it with the likes of Beyonce and Jay Z, Justin Bieber, Mark Wahlberg and Clint Eastwood as they watched the spectacle unfold.
The sports enthusiast is no stranger to the big end of town with Mr Packer’s Ratpac entertainment company behind some of the big winners at this year’s Oscars including best picture winner Birdman and hot film American Sniper.
Ratpac also had stakes in 2014 Oscar winner Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and The Lego Movie.
Mr Packer, who is heavily involved in the casino business in Australia, London and Macau, seemed to enjoy the fight from his prime spot and will no doubt enjoy the post-match celebrations with the raft of VIPs in Las Vegas.
