The Kid Laroi seemingly splits from model girlfriend Katarina Deme

The Australian rapper has seemingly split from his model girlfriend, telling his followers he’s “been going through a lot”.

The Kid Laroi has suggested he’s recently broken up with his girlfriend of three years, model Katarina Deme.

The Australian rapper, 19, whose real name is Charlton Howard, has abruptly removed all photos of the US TikTok star, also 19, from his Instagram page.

He has also unfollowed everyone from his following list, including Deme, whom he began dating in 2020.

Taking to Instagram with photos of himself standing at the top of a cliff, the Sydney-born singer explained why he’d been “silent” lately in a cryptic post.

“Been going through a lot recently,” he began. “I’m good but I’ve just needed space to focus on processing my feelings & work.”

Deme has just one post on her Instagram page of Laroi, which was uploaded in February.

At the time, she wrote alongside a series of loved-up snaps, “I guess it’s love.”

The Kid Laroi has appeared to split from his model girlfriend.

Meanwhile, in Laroi’s post, he went on to say he’d finally finished his debut album The First Time, and is currently working out a release date with his record label, Columbia Records.

Up until this point, the Kid Laroi has only ever released an independent EP and singles, including F*ck Love, Without You and Stay, featuring Justin Bieber.

In early 2021, he set a new record as the youngest Australian artist with a number one album on the ARIA charts, eclipsing Delta Goodrem’s record that had stood for longer than he’s been alive.

Laroi experienced a meteoric rise from 2020 onwards, having come from humble beginnings.

He was born and raised in inner-west suburb Redfern by his mother and uncle, the latter of whom was murdered in 2015.

Laroi went on to live in the mining town of Broken Hill in regional NSW from the age of seven with his mother, brother and grandparents.

After a short stint living in Adelaide, where he attended private school Sacred Heart College, he moved back to Sydney in 2017, before making the move to LA three short years later.
