Taylor Swift deletes Instagram video of Joe Alwyn in wake of break-up

Singer Taylor Swift has made a bold move after her shock split from actor Joe Alwyn, deleting a video of her talking about their relationship.

Taylor Swift has quietly deleted an old video from her Instagram grid, which featured her talking about now ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

In the footage, the 33-year-old revealed her relationship with the actor, 32, inspired her 2022 single, Lavender Haze – a love song about how they learnt how to block out the noise surrounding their relationship.

“We live in the era of social media, and if the world finds out if you’re in love with somebody they’re going to weigh in on it,” Swift said in the now-deleted clip.

“Like my relationship for six years, we’ve had to dodge weird rumours, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. And so this song is about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.”

The couple were notoriously private from when they began dating in 2016, after meeting at the Met Gala, to their split last month.

Throughout their relationship, they barely walked the red carpet together and refrained from speaking about each other in interviews. If it weren’t for a few Easter eggs – clues Swift uses in her music videos and songs to hide secret messages – no one would know much about the their romance.

Just days before Swift deleted the video, the singer was rumoured to have moved on with Spanish Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso. According to celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi, the pair have been seeing each other casually.

“A couple of Spanish magazines have been posting about TS and Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso,” read an anonymous email, shared on DeuxMoi Instagram Stories.

“According to them, the couple has been seeing each other for a week now. Nothing serious tho since they are both recently single.”

Alonso only added fuel to the rumours when he shared a cheeky five-second TikTok video seemingly addressing the claims.

In the clip, the 41-year-old is seen scrolling through his phone before looking at the camera and winking.

“Race week era,” he captioned the post, seemingly alluding to Swift’s current Eras Tour. The racing champ also referenced Swift’s song 22 when he commented, “Feeling 33.”
