Sarah Snook reveals secret wedding to Australian comedian Dave Lawson

Succession star Sarah Snook has revealed she has secretly married Australian comedian Dave Lawson, before anyone even knew they were an item.

Australian actress Sarah Snook has revealed she secretly married her “best mate” earlier this year after they fell in love in lockdown.

The Succession star, 33, told Vogue she is now married to Australian comedian Dave Lawson, which comes as a surprise as their relationship was never public knowledge.

Snook, who hails from Adelaide and owns a home just outside Melbourne, said the pair moved in together as friends at the beginning of the pandemic in March last year. This was when their love story began.

“At the beginning of the pandemic last year, I got locked down in Melbourne with one of my best mates and we fell in love,” she told the magazine.

“We’ve been friends since 2014, lived together, travelled together, always excited to see each other, but totally platonic.

“We’ve just never been single at the same time.”

Snook revealed she’s the one who got down on one knee in October last year, before the pair officially wed in the backyard of her Brooklyn, NY home in February.

“It’s been a ride. There’s so much heartache and sadness in the world, but on a micro personal level, I’ve been very fortunate,” Snook said.

“There’s a really lovely grace in that without the pandemic, we might not have ended up together so quickly.”

It comes after the Succession season three premiere in New York last week, where Snook wore an engagement-style ring on a very important finger.

Journalists on the red carpet didn’t appear to pick up that Snook was wearing a special sparkler, with news of her marriage dropping for the first time in Vogue today.

It’s been a whirlwind time for Snook, who was also filming the multi-award winning HBO series in Europe last year.

The first episode (finally) premieres tomorrow at 12pm AEST, express from the US on Foxtel, in which Snook returns as the uber-privileged Shiv Roy of the Roy family media dynasty.

Lawson, for his part, is known for his early work with Nickelodeon Australia shows Saturday Nick Television, Sarvo, Nick Takes Over Your School and Camp Orange. He also co-hosted with Sophie Monk for the 2006 Nickelodeon Australian Kids’ Choice Awards.

He later appeared on the 2013 ABC comedy series It’s a Date, along with MasterChef personality Poh Ling Yeow, and also featured in the 2014 ABC comedy Utopia.

Most recently, he is hosting his own digital series Dave’s Shed Show, which Snook herself appeared on as a guest back in 2018.
