People are judging Kyle Sandilands for a really bizarre reason

Kyle Sandilands has tied the knot with his long-time love Tegan Kynaston and there’s been backlash – but not for the reason you’d expect.

Kyle Sandilands got married on the weekend to Tegan Kynaston, and people are judgmental about it.

Hold up, though, because you should check yourself unless your partner is perfect. People in glass houses, right?

I mean, I once dated a man that had previously lived in a walk-in wardrobe, yes, it was like I was dating someone from Narnia.

Most people I know have dated some questionable characters. I once considered maintaining a relationship with someone because they had air conditioning, so I don’t think I can judge Tegan for marrying a man who seems very nice to her.

Honestly, it seems like she’s picked well enough.

Yet people are outraged.

Aussies are very keen to judge and mock Kyle and Tegan and I think you’ve got to do more self-reflection before you start throwing stones.

If you think Tegan shouldn’t have married Kyle, maybe you shouldn’t be dating an adult man who doesn’t know how to do the laundry.

Perhaps you shouldn’t be going out with a girl who believes crystals hold the answers to the universe.

The comment section on any update on their wedding is a bloodbath of cruelty.

“I’ve heard love is blind, but this truly proves it,” someone wrote.

“I’m sure he is the man of her dreams,” another commented.

“What a joke,” someone added.

“He is lucky someone loves him,” someone else shared.

“She wouldn’t have married him if he wasn’t rich,” another added.

Interestingly, people’s general judgment has become the most significant reaction to the million-dollar nuptials.

It was a star-studded event.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese turned up, Guy Sebastian stopped feuding with his neighbour to perform, and Ed Sheeran was even keen to come but couldn’t attend due to scheduling conflicts.

No one seems to care about that; instead, everyone’s obsessed with the couple and has decided that Tegan’s only with Kyle because she was desperate for fame and fortune.

Firstly, implying that Tegan has only married Kyle for his money is boring.

She lives in Sydney, and there are so many men wandering around with money that are way more low-profile.

She also had a good job before she had their son Otto, so she has her own money!

Secondly, Tegan’s Instagram is set to private, so she’s clearly not doing this to become an influencer or to become more famous.

So, I’d say the fact she’s hitched her wagon to Kyle and will ultimately have to spend the rest of her life becoming tabloid fodder means she loves the man.

Plus, some of the commentary seems a bit fatphobic.

Kyle, is successful, attractive, charming – I can see clearly, why he has attracted a beautiful partner.

People aren’t surprised that Coldplay’s Chris Martin has snagged the beautiful actress Dakota Johnson and they have a similar age gap.

Why has this wedding made everyone get up on their highest bar stools to judge?

I don’t think it runs that deep. The reason people have decided to dislike the couple as a couple is because it is fun to judge people.

You are lying if you haven’t met one of your friend’s boyfriends, got in the Uber home, turned to your mate, and said, “So, he spoke like a serial killer, right?”

Somehow Kyle and Tegan’s marriage has become a giant version of that conversation.

Everyone feels a bit smug about it, but I’d ask you to look at your partner and have a think.

Are they perfect on paper? Probably not, no one is.

In fact, maybe someone’s met your boyfriend/girlfriend jumped in an Uber and said: “So, she’s a w**ker, right?”

I get why people might think that Kyle is not ideal husband material. He has made a career out of sharing his opinions and some of them are questionable, but I think smugly judging Kyle and Tegan on such a mass scale feels more mean spirited than fair enough.

Surely, if you found it in your heart to love your ex who didn’t even own a bed frame, you can understand why Tegan might love a successful radio host.
