NOVA’S Michael “Wippa” Wipfli is living out “a very public personal fantasy” to go on a date with Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, and we’re happy to announce that she’s made contact.

After Wippa’s passionate video plea, the actor replied on twitter overnight.

Vergara, who is expected to arrive in Australia on a special Qantas flight next week, will be in the country to film episodes of the sitcom in Sydney and Queensland.

And Wippa, who we might mention is a happily married man, is desperate to meet the woman he describes as “the heterosexual female version of Ricky Martin”.

“There’s a Qantas event which I think is welcoming them to town,” Wippa told news.com.au.

“I’m not sure of the finer details. I believe it’s a fairly exclusive cocktail party. And Sofia needs a date. I feel like she needs someone to have fun with. I know I got married last year, but I reckon I’m still the guy.”

The radio host released a video plea to the 41-year-old Colombian yesterday which he hopes the public will continue to share in order to boost his chances of meeting the busty brunette.

“I don’t want to jump the gun,” Wippa said.

Sofia, Wippa’s the guy on the right ... FYI.

“But if she wants to try and kiss me, I’ve got permission from my wife to go ahead.”

The Nova personality has vowed to pick up the actor in a horse and cart to escort her to the event, and swears that his intentions are “innocent … until proven guilty”.

“I jumped on the front foot and decided to do the reaching out, so hopefully I don’t fall over,” said Wippa, who is standing by for more contact from Vergara on Twitter or via the Nova website.
