Miley’s mum Tish Cyrus reveals ‘issues’ in new marriage to Aussie star

Amid reports of a bitter family feud, Miley Cyrus’ mum Tish has given a candid interview revealing “issues” in her new marriage to an Ausie star.

Tish Cyrus’ marriage to Aussie actor Dominic Purcell is helping her grow as a person.

The ex-wife of Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on daughter Brandi Cyrus’ podcast Sorry We’re Stoned this week and admitted there are “definitely issues” in their union.

“I was so scared when I first met Dom, my husband,” she candidly recalled. “I am a Taurus and he is an Aquarius, and every single thing I read said, ‘Don’t even do it. It is the absolute worst pairing.’”

Going into detail about their fundamental differences, Tish, 56, said she is “easily offended” and “takes things so personally,” while Purcell is “blunt” and “not emotional.”

The newlyweds have their “issues,” Tish admits.

“And that could be a problem. But you know what, this is where I’ve grown, is like, I just feel like instead now of me getting so offended, because I respect and love him, that we have conversations,” she explained.

“And instead [of] getting so upset and heated about it, and me not taking it personally, just letting him have an opinion. I’ve never been good at that.”

“These are definitely issues,” Tish later added. “But issues also, because I love him, that I’m dealing with.”

Tish and Purcell, who is best known for his portrayal of Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break, began dating in 2020 but only debuted their romance publicly in November 2022.

They got engaged in April 2023 and walked down the aisle in August 2023.

Their relationship garnered widespread attention earlier this month amid several reports that Tish and Purcell, 54, got together shortly after he hooked up with Tish’s youngest daughter, Noah.

“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends-with-benefits way, off and on,” a person close to the famous family told People on March 1. “They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up.”

“The turmoil between Noah and Tish goes far beyond [what people think]. Noah is very distraught over Tish stealing Dominic from her,” a source for Us Weekly, who broke the news, explained.

Furthermore, Tish reportedly never had a formal conversation with Noah about her romance with the actor, which didn’t sit right with Noah.

Representatives for Tish, Noah and Purcell did not respond to Page Six’s request for comment about the drama when it was first revealed.

Noah, 24, sparked feud rumours with Tish when she and her older brother Braison skipped their mother’s nuptials in favour of a Walmart run.

Noah has found love amid the drama, announcing her engagement to fashion designer Pinkus in June 2023.

Tish was married to Noah’s father, Billy, for 28 years.

They finalised their divorce in 2022 after previously separating two other times.
