Kyle Sandilands proposes to girlfriend Tegan Kynaston

Kyle Sandilands dropped some massive personal news on-air this morning, ending days of speculation about his private life.

Kyle Sandilands has proposed to his former staffer-turned girlfriend Tegan Kynaston, confirming the news on-air this morning after reports of their engagement surfaced over the weekend.

The Daily Telegraph earlier reported the shock jock had proposed to his partner of two years, Tegan Kynaston, while on holiday on NSW’s North Coast.

The future Mr and Mrs Sandilands.

“I apologise to the women of the world, as I am officially off the market,” Sandilands said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning.

He said Kynaston had “no clue” the engagement was coming.

A video shared to the radio show's social media channels showed that Sandilands spared no expense, hiring a venue and organising fireworks during a trip to Port Douglas.

Kyle’s engagement was filmed, with the video released on social media.

His manager Bruno Bouchet had earlier all but confirmed the proposal, saying Sandilands had special news to announce during his KIIS FM show on Monday.

“It’s their news to announce, not mine,” Mr Bouchet said.

“But if you do want to know, make sure you tune into Kyle and Jackie O on Monday.”

Kyle spared no expense with the engagement.

Ms Kynaston had previously been Sandilands’ personal assistant when the couple shacked up in 2019. She is 15 years his junior.

The pair got together after Sandilands broke off an eight-year-long relationship with Imogen Anthony.

At the time, he told Mamamia the 19-year age gap was a contributing factor to their break up.

He said Anthony “went from a young girl into a woman” towards the end of their relationship, having first met Anthony when she was just 21.

“It’s not as if we couldn’t get on. It’s just I was going into my twilight years and she was just becoming a woman,” he explained.

“It was just one of those things that it was fun while it lasted and it was great, we enjoyed a lot of things about each other, but some of these things they come to an end sometimes,” he added.

The pair got together after Kyle broke off an eight-year-long relationship with Imogen Anthony (pictured).

It will be the second time Kyle walks down the aisle after his first wedding to Popstars singer Tamara Jaber in 2008.

The star-studded affair cost him more than $1 million and was attended by Bert Newton, Guy Sebastian, Brian McFadden and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

The couple split in July 2010.
