What made Kyle Sandilands cry on air

Radio shock jock Kyle Sandilands has lifted the lid on how he built a business empire worth more than $100m.

The 50-year-old explained how his major breadwinner, an investment company called King Kyle, earned a valuation of around $100m.

The controversial host transitioned his successful radio career into business in 2012 after founding the company. King Kyle has recently expanded into content creation and music production.

The company has a wide range of services including beverages and TV show productions.

He explained King Kyle was born after seeing his mother struggle financially.

“I didn’t want to put (my money) into share portfolios because I like to be in control. I saw my mum lose a lot of money when the financial market crash happened, he told The Daily Mail.

“She lost nearly all her life savings, and I just thought, ‘Hmmm. I don‘t know that area of business’

He also added despite his lack of knowledge about the industry he has other skills that have helped made King Kyle a success.

“I’m no expert in anything except for talking s**t. But I’m a very good listener as well, so I do listen to anyone that I employ to run different parts of the operation … and then I just monitor everything,’ he said.

Despite the booming business, his listeners will be glad to hear that he does not plan on ending his radio career anytime soon.

This is despite recent clashes with management about the content produced on the show. He copped a complaint from KISS FM’s management after airing a segment where a producer practised oral sex on a ham sandwich.

This is nothing new for the controversial host who describes arguments between management and himself as ‘argy bargy’.

He added he was glad to see his ex-partner Imogen Anthony had appeared on Big Brother VIP.

“‘I was happy for her to do that because I knew that she’d always wanted to do that. So when I heard she was going to do that, I was like, ‘Oh, she’ll be thrilled’,” he said.

“I wish the best for her and there‘s no real malice there. And she’s soldiering on and seems quite happy, and I’m happy. I don’t have any issues with any past girlfriends.”

Sandilands is now dating his former assistant Tegan Kynaston. She is now the head of communications for King Kyle.
