Jessica Simpson suggests ex Eric Johnson cheated in fiery new song: ‘She’s everything but me’
Jessica Simpson has expressed her disdain for her ex months after their shock split, accusing him of “unholy matrimony” in a fiery new song.
Jessica Simpson drags her estranged husband, Eric Johnson, in her emotional new song, Leave, after announcing their separation.
The pop star suggests the former NFL player cheated on her with another woman as she expresses her disdain for him in the rock track, which dropped Friday as part of her Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1 EP.
“What we had was magic / Now you made it tragic / Giving her what you gave to me / Now the well that you drank from’s empty,” she sings at the beginning of the fiery tune.
Simpson goes on to say Johnson’s “weakness” made her “lonely” and calls out his “unholy matrimony.”
“Did you do to her what you did to me? / Was she on her knees? / Oh, she’s everything but me,” the lyrics continue.
During the chorus, the fashion designer begs the athlete to “leave” and says she does not “even wanna breathe” the same air.
“Oh, I, I’d rather die / Then let you be inside me with her on your mind,” she laments, proclaiming that she is “stronger” on her own.
“So hold on / I’m letting you go,” she adds.
Page Six was not immediately able to reach Johnson for comment.
The singer, 44, announced her split from her husband of 10 years in January.
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” she said in a statement at the time.
Simpson said her and Johnson’s three children “come first” and that the former couple are “focusing on what is best for them.”
“We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family,” she added.
The Employee of the Month actress and the former tight end first sparked break-up rumours in 2023 after eagle-eyed fans noticed she had stopped posting photos with him and wearing her wedding ring.
Simpson all but confirmed her marriage was on the rocks last November while teasing her “personal” comeback album, which Page Six later reported was heavily influenced by her break-up from Johnson.
The soon-to-be exes began dating in 2010 while Johnson was still married to his first wife, Keri D’Angelo.
He and D’Angelo finalised their divorce later that year, and he married Simpson in 2014.
The Open Book author was previously married to Nick Lachey from 2002 to 2006, with their marriage being documented in their three-season MTV reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
Simpson has also dated John Mayer, Tony Romo, Adam Levine and Johnny Knoxville.
