Nearly a year after announcing their engagement, Jessica Origliasso has split from her US musician fiance Kai Carlton.
Veronicas star Jessica Origliasso has split from her US musician fiance Kai Carlton after a year-long engagement marred by coronavirus restrictions.
The 35-year-old, who was formerly in a relationship with Ruby Rose, made the announcement on her Instagram Stories on Monday morning, telling fans Kai dumped her with little explanation. Brutal.

“To all the souls messaging me about Kai – we are no longer together,” she began the lengthy update.
She went on to reveal: “I was not afforded any real explanation to address this with clarity here.”
Further to her stories update, the pair are no longer following each other on social media, and Jessica has removed all photographic evidence of him from her Instagram page.

“While I appreciate your concern, as much of our relationship was on social media, I don’t know what to say except that I wish to put this behind me, and I’m lucky to have people who love me to support me through this time,” she added in her post.
News of Jessica and Kai’s engagement made headlines on October 31 last year.
Kai, 23, proposed at a luxurious resort in Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, with Jessica sharing the news on Instagram.
Earlier this year, they seemed as loved-up as ever despite the pandemic’s impact on their relationship.
Jessica did, however, speak candidly about how their physical separation had been an obstacle in July.
She told The Daily Telegraph: “Even though we are engaged, we won’t be able to see each other until the borders are open again because of the government restrictions.
“We are doing amazing and I’ve got the family through all of this.”
In August, Kai shared his own thoughts about their long-distance engagement.
“Its been almost six months, three travel applications, hundreds of FaceTimes and thousands of texts since. Though the times have been tough and trying, there is no one I appreciate, love and admire more in these times than you.”
Jess famously dated Australian actress Ruby Rose before their relationship turned sour, the high profile couple splitting for good in early 2018 after rekindling a romance that began in 2009.
Jess then began dating Kai, who hails from LA, in 2018 after meeting through mutual friends.
When the pair began dating, there was speculation about Kai’s gender, who confirmed in June he was “trans male” via Instagram.
“Maybe I just don’t say it that much because I don’t see a reason to really say it socially,” he said. “But I’m a trans male, so that’s why I am prideful.”
