Jessica Chastain publicly takes sides in Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner split

It’s shaping up to be the ugliest Hollywood divorce in years – and it seems like everyone has an opinion on Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s split.

Jessica Chastain bows down to the Queen of the North.

The Oscar winner showed Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner public support amid the latter’s nasty divorce and custody battle with her estranged husband, Joe Jonas.

On Friday, Chastain reposted a tweet from feminist author Roxane Gay that read, “The way Joe Jonas miscalculated his popularity with his transparent attempts at PR manipulation, particularly when the North remembers is FASCINATING.

“And holding the children’s passports to keep them from their mother? Bruh,” Gay’s post continued, as she added in a second tweet, “And the thing is, these are not people I know or follow. I just read the ‘news.’ He has handled this SO badly that now I’m paying attention.”

As if her retweet was not a clear enough message, Chastain, 46, referred to Gay as “The Oracle.”

Comedian Kathy Griffin is another to publicly offer her support to Turner: She shared a 2009 clip of herself on Instagram mocking the Jonas Brothers during a stand-up set, in which she called the brothers “embarrassing” and said she “didn’t buy them as sex symbols.”

“Well, well, well … What else is there to say? The House Griffin knows no queen but the queen in the north, whose name is Stark. #TeamSophie,” Griffin captioned the vintage clip.

“All I can say is this is from 2009 and I was right.”

Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, 27, earlier this month, claiming that their four-year marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

The pair share two daughters: Willa, 3, and a 1-year-old whose name they have yet to announce.

Though the Jonas Brothers frontman, 34, and the actress immediately released a joint statement calling their breakup a “united decision,” a barrage of reports painting Turner as an unfit mother began to surface.

Sources close to Jonas previously told TMZ that Turner is a party girl whom the musician — who’s been caring for their kids “pretty much all of the time” — had caught in some sort of compromising position.

Turner — and sources close to her — chose to remain mum on the details of the split.

However, she made quite the statement earlier this week when she was photographed out to dinner with Jonas’ most famous ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift.

Less than two days later, Turner sued him for the return of their daughters to her home country of England.

She is seeking to secure “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained.”

In her filing, Turner claimed that she and Jonas had agreed over Christmas 2022 that they would move across the pond, which is why they put their Miami estate up for sale.

She claimed the whole family officially relocated from Miami to England in April and that she began filming the miniseries “Joan” in early summer.

Jonas, for his part, started touring the US with his siblings in August.

According to Turner, the duo agreed to have their kids travel with him because he had more free time to spend with them. However, she called it a “temporary arrangement.”

She also claimed the demise of their union “happened very suddenly” following an argument on the vocalist’s birthday on August 15 and that she found out he had filed for divorce “through the media.”

Turner said that Jonas is now refusing to consent to their girls’ relocation to the UK and is withholding their passports, which his lawyer has confirmed.

However, the Grammy winner’s lawyer denied that he ever “abducted” the youngsters, claiming he’s “seeking shared parenting” and “is of course also okay with the kids being raised both in the US and the UK.”
