Abbie Chatfield responds to rumours surrounding split from Konrad Bien-Stephens

Abbie Chatfield has addressed speculation surrounding her split from Konrad Bien-Stephens, clarifying one major rumour about the break-up.

Abbie Chatfield has confirmed her split from Konrad Bien-Stephens following weeks of swirling speculation, declaring the break-up had nothing to do with their open relationship status.

The It’s A Lot podcast host addressed Instagram followers on Saturday night to reveal she and Bachelorette star Konrad went their separate ways “a couple of months ago” after 10 months together.

Admitting she felt “anxious” about releasing a statement, Abbie mused that she “probably won’t share (her) relationship publicly again” due to the inevitable scrutiny.

“This is going to seem really out of the blue and really strange timing,” the Masked Singer judge, 27, began.

Abbie took to her Instagram stories to straighten things out.

The podcast host insisted it had 'nothing to do' with their open relationship.

“I guess I wanted to confirm that yeah, Konrad and I have broken up. We’ve been broken up for a couple of months now.

“No one did anything bad or awful, there’s no drama to it,” she continued.

“It was not because we were in an open relationship. Nothing bad happened.

“I wasn’t being deceitful by not telling people, there was a reason why there was a delay in telling you all,” she explained of her silence up until now.

Abbie went on to rubbish rumours their break-up was “messy”, adding: “I don’t really owe any of you an explanation.

“I just feel like nipping it in the bud … We’re broken up, it’s not a secret, it’s not anything bad, it’s not anything dramatic, it just is what it is,” she repeated.

“I probably won’t ever share my relationship publicly again to be honest because this whole situation and the way the media have f**king reported on it … like it’s a game, like my relationship is a game … it’s quite f**ked,” Abbie, visibly frustrated, added of the saga.

It comes after reports emerged in August that Konrad, who is currently overseas partaking in Channel 10’s new reality show The Challenge, hooked up with fellow Bachelor alum Megan Marx during filming.

It’s not the first time Abbie has addressed criticism of her relationship, specifically her and Konrad’s choice to keep theirs non-monogamous.

Speaking to Stellar in July, she said: ““I’ve never been upset or threatened by someone (I’m in a relationship with) sleeping with someone else. It’s my kink. I just never really valued monogamy that much,” she told the publication.

“It sounds awful, but I don’t really see him all that much, maybe two days a week. I don’t know if it’s scarcity, but he’s very good at communicating, and so am I.”

The couple first spoke out about their open relationship in February, sparking a barrage of criticism online that Abbie labelled “embarrassing”.

“Some of you f**kers are so embarassingly triggered because you’re so insecure, you’re like ‘but if you love someone’, not me, not him,” she said on an episode of her popular podcast It’s A Lot.

“It’s fine, if that’s how you feel, be monogamous, love that for you

“But why do you care if I f**k someone else or he f**ks someone else.”

Speaking to fans on Saturday, Abbie said she “will probably be in an open relationship again”.
