Grant Denyer slams New Idea for suggesting he’s having an affair

Grant Denyer has posted a series of furious messages after photos emerged in New Idea claiming he’d been ‘caught out’ with his 22-year-old DWTS partner.

Grant Denyer has hit out at New Idea for splashing its front page with images of him and his Dancing With The Stars partner, 22-year-old Lily Cornish, claiming he’s been “caught out” by his wife of ten years Chezzi Denyer.

The story has since been removed by the publication online, but the couple posted details of the article to their Instagram Stories, which included captions such as “shock new pics” and “Chezzi’s heartbreak”.

In the images, Denyer, 44, is seen with his hand on the 22-year-old dancer’s thigh, and smiling with her as they walk down the street.

“What the actual hell is this front page crap New Idea,” Chezzi wrote with the laughing emoji, launching into a rant against the magazine.

Denyer reposted this from his wife Chezzi.

On the next slide, she revealed the photographer who took the photos had actually apologised to the couple for the images being “taken out of context”.

“Right before this little ‘she’ll be right’ leg pat … I was on the phone with them also consoling Lilz,” Chezzi wrote, explaining that Cornish is a close friend of the couple’s.

“Lilz is like our adopted daughter. We grew extremely close during her month long stay with us here in Bathurst. We absolutely adore her!”

Chezzi said the photographer had apologised for how the photos were used in the magazine.

The TV personality and his wife both went on to slam New Idea.

She went on to describe the photo as “gross and really mean”.

“Poor Lilz doesn’t deserve this defamation of character … New Idea you should be ashamed.”

Chiming in on his own profile, Grant called the article “savage”.

Grant furiously hit out at the article.

Grant Denyer said he’s ‘used to having his reputation trashed’, going on to fiercely defend his dance partner.

“My wife and I are used to fabricated stories from these type of magazine, we’ve had a life of it but for Lily, she’s a 22 yo kid!!

“This kind of treatment is brutally unfair and disgusting.”

He concluded: “I’m a Dad of 3 girls. And if any friend is having a bad day or a tough time in their life, I’m going to be there for them. End of story.”

Denyer is appearing in the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars: All Stars alongside Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac, McLeod’s Daughters star Bridie Carter, Ricki-Lee Coulter and Angie Kent.
