Social media queen Chrissy Teigen has returned to Instagram following the heartbreaking news of her miscarriage earlier this month.

Almost two weeks after sharing her heartbreaking miscarriage story with the world, Chrissy Teigen has returned to social media for a much-needed giggle.

The 34-year-old model, author and wife of musician John Legend gave fans a devastating hospital update earlier this month, revealing they had lost their third child – a son, who they had already decided to name Jack.

This weekend, Teigen returned to social media, leaving a comment on a photo.

In a gut-wrenching post on October 1, the pair posted a series of images from her hospital bed, including one of the pair holding the child bundled up in a blanket, crying.

The post was met with floods of supportive comments from followers and fellow stars, praising Teigen for shedding light on such a personal experience – one that many women share.

For the first time since sharing the tragic story, Twitter-loving Teigen has returned to social media, leaving a comment on a photo on the @betches Instagram account.

The post was a screenshot of a tweet that read: “Just booked an eyebrow waxing appointment and I‘m excited I’ll be wearing a mask so I don’t have to hear ‘moustache too?’”

Teigen left a reply on the post: “Finally, a giggle. Thank you.”

Her response garnered hundreds of replies from fans wishing her well.

Halfway through her high-risk pregnancy, Teigen had fans worried when she first began sharing that she’d lost a large amount of blood.

Days later, she posted: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

She continued: “To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”

Teigen’s openness prompted actress Kate Beckinsale posting to Instagram about her experience with a miscarriage over 10 years ago.

“Years ago, I lost a baby at 20 weeks. I had managed to keep my pregnancy quiet and I absolutely collapsed inside and no one would have known. There is grief, shame and shock so often that come with an experience like this, plus the heartbreak of your body continuing, after the loss, to act as if it had a child to nurture,” she wrote.

“I think it’s an honour to be allowed into another person’s grief,” the actress went on in reference to the criticism Teigen received for sharing such personal images from hospital.

The Project panellist and comedian Em Rusciano made a special thanks to Teigen during the show the night of her post, after suffering her own miscarriage in May 2017.

Getting emotional, she explained how it’s not talked about enough.

“You find out about it when talking to girlfriends, and they say ‘I’ve had one too’. Not at the time, when they need the most support and love,” she explained.

“You go through so many things, and you blame yourself. It’s a strange grief. It’s a different kind of grief, and I’ve never experienced anything like it.”

Rusciano had nothing but respect and gratitude for Teigen for being so candid about her experience, hoping it will encourage other women going through the same thing to speak up.
