Zac Efron’s girlfriend Vanessa Valladares is spotted out on her own in Byron Bay

Zac Efron’s Byron Bay girlfriend Vanessa Valladares has been spotted solo in her hometown, with no Hollywood hottie in sight.

Vanessa Valladares – the new girlfriend of Hollywood star Zac Efron – has been spotted on a solo outing in her hometown, without her famous beau.

That’s because the pair have been separated while he films a new movie in South Australia.

The actor, 33, has been separated from his model girlfriend since landing in Adelaide last week to film his new thriller, Gold, a Stan original.

Efron landed in the city only a few days before it was declared a coronavirus hotspot, with border restrictions soon after being put in place.

The couple have been inseparable since July when they first met in the Byron cafe Valladares worked in, so this is a long time apart for them.

On Monday, Valladares looked fresh in a blue sundress while walking around town by herself.

The model made her way to the Zulu & Zephyr boutique, where she had a chat with the sales assistant.

Efron has spent much of the pandemic laying low in Byron Bay with 25-year-old Valladares.

It’s unclear exactly where Efron has been staying in South Australia, but it is understood thriller Gold is being filmed hours away from the city of Adelaide.

Before the state’s new restrictions had hit, he’d been spotted in the city on several occasions, with sightings of the star at inner-city bars and out buying RM Williams boots.

Twenty-year-old Anabel Renfrey posted footage saying she had seen the superstar at the venue.

“Imagine hitting Cry Baby on a Wednesday only to see and meet Zac Efron,” the Instagram post said.

Ms Renfrey said she spotted the Hollywood heart-throb at the bar.

“We were sitting just near him and he walked past us to the booth next to us and as he walked past I looked up at him (nervously) and said hi,” she told NCA NewsWire.

“He stepped aside to us and said hi and asked how we were going and what our names were … He was so lovely and chilled. He just smiled at everyone.

“His eyes go really shiny when he smiles in movies and it’s exactly the same in person.”

Efron and Valladares started seeing each other in July this year, going public with their romance in September.

In the blink of an eye, the young Aussie was thrust into global headlines – prompting her Instagram following to jump by thousands – after pictures emerged of her cosying up to the High School Musical star.

In a tale fit for a Hollywood script, it turns out the 25-year-old model has her boss to thank for introducing her to the hunky actor.

As the story goes, the romance began at the Byron Bay General Store where Valladares was waiting tables and making coffee. It is understood her boss first encouraged the pair to get to know each other, believing they’d hit it off.

And boy did they!

It is unknown how long Efron will be staying in Australia for, but he flew into Australia just before international borders closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and he doesn’t seem to have concrete plans on returning to America anytime soon.

The star actually had a return flight booked to Los Angeles in August, but cancelled it when his visa was extended from three to 12 months.

“He was only planning to fly home if he had to,” a source revealed to the Daily Mail. “He didn’t really want to go back to America.”
