The Kardashians aren’t keeping up with fashion anymore
For years these were the kind of photos that ruled the internet but there’s a reason they suddenly don’t make as much sense anymore.

It has never been a more challenging time to be a Kardashian. Sure, they are filthy rich and fabulous, but for the first time, they are having trouble keeping up.
You’ll have noticed lately that the fashion culture has shifted. It’s either the quiet, rich look of Sofia Richie, tasteful clothes, muted colours and classic elegance, or it’s the ratty Gen Z look of Olivia Rodrigo, plaid miniskirts with oversized T-shirts, and neither option is very Kardashian.
The only bright side is that fun socks are finally back in, so there’s a real chance for Rob Kardashian’s sock line to shine for once.
What is a Kardashian girl to do in these crazy times?
Kim, Kourtney and Khloe became famous for being a bit tasteless. Every outfit they wore looked like something your wild aunty would save to throw on for the final night of your family cruise.
Love them or hate them, but you can’t deny the Kardashian fashion impact, even Vogue had to eventually let Kim pose for the cover.
The sisters made it cool to dress outrageously. They piled on the make-up, ignored the subtle girl-next-door look, and instead went for vampy, sexy and obvious.
Katie Holmes was a 90s ‘it’ girl for looking fresh-faced and Kim Kardashian was a 2000s ‘it’ girl for wearing a full face.
The Kardashians were never afraid to rock a label or a trend brazenly. They came across as tacky yet somehow still relevant. Sure, there have been some glow-ups since, but the vibe is still very much the same.
Kim’s become a certified fashion girly and sometimes dresses more like a Matrix character than a sex symbol.
Kourtney married rocker Travis Barker and now wears T-shirts of bands she’s never heard of and Khloe’s experimented with patterns that aren’t leopard print, but one thing remains the same: they aren’t subtle.
You’ll have noticed lately that all the ladies are trying to find new styles. They’ve realised the golden era of bandage dresses is over and are all trying to determine their next look.
Khloe’s been posting sundresses instead of skin-tight jeans paired with a corset top, and while the idea is fun she looks less ready for a summer day and more like she’s trapped in the 1950s.
Kourtney’s very much leaning into being more of a rock chick, you know, minus playing or liking rock music.
She’s trying to embrace Gen Z fashion but in such an over the top way it looks more like a parody than a fashion moment.
Even Kim’s floundering a bit; she’s stuck to her skin-tight look, experimenting with colours and textures, and the writing is on the wall.
The Kardashians are not setting trends anymore, they are trying to follow them.
The Kardashians finally can’t keep up.
