Terri Irwin debuts new look after ditching her signature blonde hair
The wildlife conservationist has switched up her look after many years, opting for brunette locks she debuted at a glam event in New York.
Terri Irwin has caused fans to do a double-take after she ditched her signature blonde hair in favour of darker locks.
The wildlife conservationist, 58, debuted her new brunette look at The Explorers Club Annual Dinner (ECAD) in New York, where her daughter, Bindi Irwin, was honoured with the President’s Award for Conservation.
Proud mum Terri looked chic with her new hairstyle as she posed alongside her son Robert, 19, and Bindi in a stunning family portrait taken at the event.
“Congratulations @BindiIrwin! A well deserved award for all your work to protect wildlife and wild places,” Terri wrote as she retweeted the image shot by photographer Felix Kunze.

In the photo, Bindi also looked sophisticated in her floor-length floral skirt while Robert ditched his trademark khaki gear for a sleek suit.
“Here’s to dedicating our lives to protecting, exploring and creating change for our Mother Earth,” Bindi captioned the same photo she shared on her Instagram page. “Thank you ECAD for the President’s Award for Conservation and congratulations to the extraordinary awardees.”
Another person who was very proud of Bindi was her husband, Chandler Powell.
“I’m so proud️. Congratulations!” he commented on the photo.
Terri shared Bindi and Robert with the late Steve Irwin, who was tragically killed by a stingray in 2006. He was 44.
The Irwin matriarch has never remarried, telling the The Courier Mail her late husband gave her “enough” love, therefore she doesn’t need to find it elsewhere.
“You know, and I keep saying this, and I think maybe 15 years later people are finally starting to believe me, Steve was it for me,” she told the outlet in 2021. “That’s just the way it is. I had a big, big love and it was enough to last a lifetime.”
“I think when you become a young widow, it can be uncomfortable for other couples, that whole, ‘Oh well, now she’s single, is she looking around?’ And my male friends are more comfortable, they can see I’m not chasing them. I’m too busy to chase anybody.”
Last year would have been the couple’s 30th wedding anniversary and the mum-of-two marked it with a heartfelt post on Twitter.

These days, Terri happily has her hands full managing the family’s wildlife park Australia Zoo on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, and she also became a grandmother for the first time in 2021 when her Bindi gave birth to her first child, Grace.
“You remind me to appreciate every detail of life, always exercise plenty of imagination, and love unconditionally,” Terri penned on Twitter last month in a sweet note for Grace on her 2nd birthday. “I treasure each and every moment with you. I am truly blessed to be your bunny.”
