SVU star Chris Meloni explains his jaw-dropping on-set viral photo

This eye-catching photo of Law & Order star Chris Meloni has fans gobsmacked – and now the actor himself has weighed in to explain it.

Meloni by name, melony by nature.

A candid photo of Law & Order actor Chris Meloni on the set of the crime procedural series has caused quite the stir on social media over the past 24 hours, thanks to one, ahem, noticeable asset.

The photo first surfaced publicly via science journalist Peter Hess, who tweeted that it had been posted in a Brooklyn, New York neighbourhood Facebook group after Meloni and crew were spotted filming an episode of Law & Order in the area.

“Law & Order: Special Thicctims Unit,” Hess quipped in a follow-up tweet.

Soon, others on social media were weighing in on 60-year-old Meloni’s eye-catching backside.

“How do you think they make that donk-donk sound in each episode,” tweeted comedian David Itzkoff.

Chris Meloni‘s causing quite the stir on social media.

“That cannot be a real butt,” one commenter replied.

“What in the melon section of the supermarket is happening here?” said another.

“How does one man have at least six men worth of butt in his pants?” asked another.

Soon, the man himself was looped in to provide some answers – and took the intense questioning in good humour.

“@Chris Meloni, you wanna explain why you have so much cake?” One commenter tweeted directly at the actor, who helpfully broke down the maths:
