Sophie Monk is engaged to Joshua Gross who designed a personalised ring for the star

The star kept her promise in sharing the news with her fans first, showing off her sparkling new engagement ring.

Sophie Monk has announced her engagement to fiance Joshua Gross.

The announcement came Friday afternoon, with the star uploading a very happy photo with Gross wearing the sparkly new ring.

“Told you I’d tell you guys first,” Monk began in her Instagram post. “I’m engaged. I honestly can’t thank you enough for all the love and support.

“I know I have the coolest people following me and you’ve always had my back and I feel so cared about. You’re absolute bloody legends. I’m not very good at being mushy.”

She continued: “I’m trying to say I absolutely adore you. @joshuargross and I are so happy. Josh designed a very personal ring with my favourite Aussie designer @luke_rose_jewellery and I LOVE IT.”

Monk, 41, has been battling engagement rumours for a long time, with the star having to deny them late last year.

“Promise I’m not engaged... as If I wouldn’t tell you guys straight away,” she wrote on Instagram after it was reported by Woman’s Day that Gross had popped the question.

“Hand on heart... I’m not,” Monk captioned another post.

And she kept her word, making sure the announcement came from her personal Instagram page instead of a news outlet.

This engagement is Monk’s third time lucky, who was engaged to Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden in 2007, before they split a year later, and American millionaire Jimmy Esebag in 2011 which quickly fizzled.

After starring on The Bachelorette in 2017, Monk began a relationship with her winner, millionaire Sydney publican Stu Laundy, but in January 2018 they announced they had split after six months together.

In August that year, Monk and Gross, 42, met unexpectedly on a plane after “three champagnes” in business class and even shared a kiss mid-air.
